We are a non-profit organization based in Seattle, Washington since 2011. We are determined to helping impoverished children, who cannot attend school, with food, school materials and other essentials. We are also providing tools to parent/guardians, who are not able to support their families, which they can use to start businesses and establish food security for their children.

We help children in desperate need of aid in Ethiopia. We provide school necessities and food as well as tools for parents/guardians to support them in becoming independent in providing for their own children and households. We provide our aid regardless of gender, religion, political affiliation or disability.

After hearing about children in schools falling unconscious from starvation, a group of Ethiopian Diaspora's in Seattle formed this non-profit organization in 2011 with the mission to provide stability for children unable to obtain an education. Since then, Unite for Children has worked tirelessly with our implementing partners Abune Zena Markos, a similar non-profit with a center in Addis Ababa. We have grown to be be able to help 80 children annually and dozens of single parents/guardians.

Due to Ethiopia's growing economic crisis, thousands of children are not able to attend school. Although public schools are free, a child suffering with the burdens of poverty and hunger often has no option but to drop out. Children do not have basic necessities to survive much to attend school. This is the problem that Unite for Children is trying to help solve. Even if we are only one non-profit, with your help and support we can change many lives.

For the past three years, as the crisis in Ethiopia got worse, Unite for children provided emergency funds outside of Addis for people affected by Covid and then the Civil war. Here are the regions we reached out - Gondar, Hosana, Shewa (Ataye), Tigray and Wolega region.
