For the past three years, as the crisis in Ethiopia got worse, Unite for children provided emergency funds outside of Addis for people affected by Covid and then the Civil war. Here are the regions we reached out - Gondar, Hosana, Shewa (Ataye), Tigray and Wolega region.
Hundreds of children drop out of school in Ethiopia because of their impoverished circumstances. We provide children with food, notebooks, uniforms and other school necessities so they are able to attend school and get an education. As of last year, we are helping an average of 80 children a year. Every child deserves an education but not every child can afford one and they need our help.
The Economic Empowerment program is designed to provide tools to parents and guardians so they are able to start become financially stable enough to provide food security for their households. This is a project that aims to help children in the long run. If children's parents and guardians are able to provide for them, then the child will have the necessities to attend school, get an education and will be set on a good track.
